Building Partnership for Youth, Peace, and Security

Short Description:

“Building Partnership for Youth, Peace, and Security” is a regional initiative implemented within the broader project “Sustainable Communities – Made of Us”, which aims to promote youth-led peacebuilding and create strong cross-sectoral partnerships for peace and security in the Western Balkans. The initiative empowers youth to act as agents of change by engaging them in dialogue with institutions and enhancing their role in conflict prevention and reconciliation processes.

  • Youth participation in decision-making
  • Social cohesion and sustainable development
  • Multistakeholder partnerships for peace

Geographical Scope:
Western Balkans – with implementation in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Key Activities:

  • Youth consultations on peace and security
  • National and regional forums for institutional dialogue
  • Capacity-building programs for youth peacebuilders
  • Collaborative projects between CSOs, academia, and government
  • Advocacy for youth-inclusive policy reforms in peace and security frameworks

Implementing Organizations:

  • United Nations Association Albania (UNA Albania) – Lead implementer
  • Regional partner organizations from civil society and academia
  • Supported by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
